I hang my head in shame (again), we have been home for almost two weeks and
I'm only just posting, I'm so sorry my internet chums. I really have
been trying to post but between not being quite the Techie Smartypants
I claim to be and a certain little bebe who has in-slaved me its taken
longer than I intended. I've been having some problems with finding my
way round the photo program but still better late than ever - right
Mum?
So here is the recap to bring you up todate. The first few days the
jet lag was rough but I think as much as anything else we were all just
tired from the whole trip in general and jet lag or not we would have
been walking round like zombies anyway.
The first night we got back we just couldn't bring ourselves to have
Lulu sleep in her room all on her little lonesome and since we couldn't
get the crib through the door and were too tired to set the bed up in
there we opted to have her in bed with us. This was a mistake since
she really doesn't do well sleeping with us she just isn't used to
sleeping anywhere but a crib. So we all woke up every few hours and by
2.00 AM Lulu was STARVING and I know we fed her something but don't ask
me what, I remember that the bottle of formula was soundly rejected!
That next morning we were all so tired but following the advise of
"those who have gone before us" we tried to get Lulu's clock reset to
US time as quickly as possible. By Sunday we had to go out to the grocery store
anyway since the fridge was bare and that also meant we all got out in
the sunshine which I think helped us all re adjust to the time zone.
Here you can see that Lulu is NOT convinced that grocery shopping is
"way fun", indeed apparently back at the "Nage" (as Auntie J calls it)
she NEVER had to go grocery shopping, "I just had my peeps go out and
do all that stuff for me"
Before venturing into the dreaded Stop & Shoppe we fortify
ourselves with good solid nutrition from Taco Belly. Apparently Lulu
approved - I'm just not sure that our SW would!
Finally, Lulu gets her hands on the car keys only to discover to her
utter horror that the vehicle is well substandard - oh no this will
never, never do, Lulu was thinking something along the lines of a
Lotus, not a Jeepy.
Oooops Simon discovers why a Jeepy is not a suitable family car - told ya so!
A very tired, jet lagged Little Miss L puts on a brave face.
I'm
happy to say that Lulu has been eating like a horse, well not the hay
and the oats in a bucket part, oh and not the grass, but apart from
that EXACTLY like a horse. Broccoli continues to be a big hit but
nothing beats noodles - food of the Gods!
This last one is the exact moment that the noodle disappears "schmack' into L's mouth - deeee-lish!
After three days Simon had to go back to work (boohoo) and it was just me and
L! After a couple of days we got a little bit of cabin fever all by
ourselves and you know what you do when that happens - go visit
Targety! Now I know the experts all say you shouldn't really venture
out for the first few weeks but it did us the world of good and besides
we needed STUFF.
"I have heard tales of the magical place that is Targety, lets go driver"
"but how can I possibly go shopping with this stupid bucket on my head?"
"the tales were true - it IS a place of magic and mystery, and you were
right I do need lots of this stuff, quick put it in the trolley"
Oh yeah, well your hat looks pretty stupid too lady!"
We also took the stroller out for a spin, not the famous "Bebe Car"
- bit of a long story there
but the little Micro is okay but it will be
so nice to have a stroller where she can face us - well, we think it
will, be L might not think its so great.
All bundled up, no sneaky clothing police are going to catch us out!
"s'plain to me again, exactly how is this supposed to be fun, and when is Granny sending the mittens my fingers are ffffreezing"
