It would appear I'm doomed to only shop at B'J's Wholesale Club for the next year or so since they are the only store near us with the double seats on their shopping trolleys* I guess it could be worse, I mean they do carry a very exciting array of toilet rolls*
*that's shopping carts and toilet paper for my American buddies
The bakeries in Taiwan are fabulous, seriously, seriously fabulous! On this trip we, of course, as responsible adoptive parents with two of our children being from Taiwan, wanted to immerse ourselves in the culture of Taiwan. After long and serious consideration we felt the best way this could be done was to eat our way through the bakeries of Taipei. Now, in general I would describe myself as a Slacker Mum but this was one task I wasn't going to shirk. Sure we knew it was going to be tough but our resolve never wavered and I feel, given our limited time, we made a damn fine stab at it. Obviously we will need to return to Taipei to fully complete the job and I'm thinking that before then it might be wise to "limber up" so to speak with a little tour of the patisserie's of Paris, possibly a trip to Japan - masters of the art of cake and of course a return to England for cream cakes galore. Yep, International Adoption is not for the faint hearted what with all this learning about and embracing birth country cake, I mean culture, birth country culture!
Lulu and Beau got in on the cake research too, did I say cake again? I meant "culture" research, that's it "culture research." Hey, its my story and I'm sticking to it. Here Beau expresses his enthusiasm for his birth country cake culture!
And here they offer up their thoughtful review of Taiwan cake, err culture!
Sister Carrie just asked "Oh my goodness, does that child ever not look gloriously happy?"
Well,
the answer is pretty much no! Posy has a smile that just does not
quit! Pretty much the only time she isn't smiley is when she needs
changing or is hungry and the minute someone helps her out with that
she is back to all smiles. That said, she does also have a temper that
is truly awesome in its rage and intensity, I kid you not its a more
than a little bit scary! Luckily its easy to keep on her good side, a
little tickle, a few fruit puffs, a little cuddle and all is right in
her world.
I told Lulu that it was important to keep the boppy pillow behind Posy so that she wouldn't fall over and bang her head when she got wobbly. Lulu is a big one for safety, below are some pics of some of her "safety" work! For a moment I thought I'd lost a baby, but there she was in a mountain of "safety pillows"
We are all still a bit sleep deprived round these parts but there is nothing like a good lullaby to help you get some catch up zzz's
Lulu thinks this is the greatest lullaby ever, it cracks her up every time and she can't believe how naughty Ricky is "he sings too loud, too loud" I need me one of them celebrity lullabies to keep me awake during the day time!
